Like boats, thrusters come in various shapes and sizes, and we are here to help you with what your specific needs are. We also have lots of information on our website and blog.

Most of the Sleipner thrusters we supply and fit are tunnel thrusters. With these, you install a GRP tunnel through the bow below the waterline at the optimal point to provide maximum thrust.

It is not always possible to fit a tunnel thruster, however, and it may be necessary to fit an external thruster, or a retractable thruster. This depends on your specific boat.

Stern Thruster Installation in Norfolk

If you already have a bow thruster fitted and need even more control, we can also supply and fit stern thrusters around Norfolk and the Norfolk broads. We can also help arrange fittings as far away as the Thames estuary.

Stern thrusters use the same motor as a bow thruster, but use special cowls to supply the correct thrust, and we can supply you with the full kit.

SX Series Thrusters

The SX35 External Thruster is one of the latest external thrusters from Sleipner.

It can be installed either as a bow thruster or a stern thruster.

It is the world’s most compact external thruster, and can be fitted in any hull shape or material.

The SX35 is perfect when the layout does not allow a standard installation.

Lower production costs make it excellent value for money.

Suitable for boats up to 11 metres/37 feet.
